We've spent a good few days playing on the beaches nearby lately, and it's inspired me to carry my camera more and photograph my children more - starting a business and working with my camera has unintentionally slowed down how much I photograph my own kids. I want to freeze their best days, their childhood, their innocence, fearlessness, experiences and discoveries.
My daughter just turned 7, and it's made me very aware of how short childhood is. I want them to stay this way for as long as possible. Don't lose that feisty enthusiasm for everything!
From one very windy, choppy day at the beach...
When we realised we weren't alone.. this little chap was only 5/6 feet from us. They loved spotting him!
“The ocean makes me feel really small and it makes me put my whole life into perspective… it humbles you and makes you feel almost like you’ve been baptized. I feel born again when I get out of the ocean.”
― Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter
"AAH!" Hang on a minute...." *fixes hair.... hair blows into face again*
I'm obsessed with my baby's feet. They were the first things I felt, pushing against my hand. They were all I could see seconds after I gave birth - startling into the air all purple. His feet felt the same to touch with my palm as they did from inside my skin, days before. I took prints when he was only a couple of days old. I tickle them to make him laugh that sweet laugh.
I can't help but wonder where they will take him.
