The 12th Day of Christmas with Olga & Jonathan

I’ve been having wonderful flashbacks to the start of my working year, which began in January in Surrey with Olga & Jonathan. Their wedding was on the 12th Day of Christmas at Wotton House and the whole place was filled with glowing lights, warm colours and the scent of spices and pine that I can still remember as we approach winter again several months later. Combine this with the carols in the church, a first kiss under the mistletoe, rhymes and wreaths and you’ve got the perfect New Years wedding.

I didn’t attend bridal preparations this time, but saw Olga appear at the top of the staircase, and walk down next to the heavy garlands on the bannister. On her way to meet Jonathan and make their wedding vows together. The church service was so festive, and included a family choir singing O Come, O Come, Emmanuel - acapella. I was so moved by their performance that I had to record a tiny amount. It’s not the greatest quality recording as my lens was trying to auto focus the whole time but I just couldn’t leave it out!

As the new Mr & Mrs Baker walked through their confetti snowstorm and arrived back at the house, mulled wine was served and the candles were lit, before the wedding breakfast was served, champagne glasses were filled, and everyone went back to the hall for speeches standing by the fireplace. Follow their story below, told in pictures. Preferably, whilst cradling a warm drink. And join me in wishing Mr & Mrs Baker hearty congratulations!
